The UW Men’s Lacrosse team was established over fifty years ago in 1973, and has remained a top-tier program ever since.

What division do you guys compete in? Are you D1?

The UW Men’s Lacrosse Club competes in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA)’s Division 1, in the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League (PNCLL). The MCLA is the premier conference for schools who often are not able to sponsor an NCAA Division 1 team due to funding issues.

Who do you guys play?

Our in-conference opponents include: Washington State University, University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Boise State University, and Simon Fraser University (Canada). Our out-of-conference opponents vary, but in the past, we have played teams such as: University of Colorado, Colorado State University, San Diego State University, Dominican University, Brigham Young University, Utah Valley University, and more.

When is your season?

Our regular season typically runs from approximately early January to mid May. Regular season practices begin right after Christmas break. Our conference playoffs are typically the final week of April - first week of May, and the national championship tournament is in mid-May in Round Rock, Texas. We also do a fallball season between beginning shortly after school starts.

Do you guys travel?

We do! Approximately half of our in-conference games are travel games, usually traveled to by bus. We also generally compete in the PAC-12 Shootout at UCLA on President’s Day Weekend, and typically take a spring break trip to play out-of-conference opponents during the first part of our spring break (both typically plane trips).

Do you offer scholarships?

Unfortunately, UW Men’s Lacrosse cannot offer athletic scholarships at this time and has no influence on the admissions process. However, the UW offers many scholarships for undergraduate students. Find more info here: UW Scholarships

Do players pay dues?

As a club sports team, players do have to pay dues to help fund the costs of running our team. However, we keep dues low by fundraising, donations, and sponsorships. Even for those who may not be able to pay, we as a club have made a personal commitment to allow any player who wants to play play, regardless of any financial hardships they might have.

We’re glad you asked! We pride ourselves on our student athletes balancing their family, academics, and lacrosse. Players are allowed to compete at a high level in one of the most competitive MCLA conferences in the nation while receiving an education from a university consistently ranked in the top 3 public universities in the country and the top 10 research universities in the world. Our players are also able to have jobs, social lives, study abroad, and go on to have tremendous professional success later in life (fostered by our nation-wide alumni network!).

Where do you play?

We play nearly all of our home games on the IMA Sports Turf Field #3, located at 3200 NE Clark Rd, Seattle, WA 98105 (across from University Village).
